Marking PhaseUse of consistently trained Assessors using their guidance notes and Scoring Booklets ensures that uniform marking and judging standards will be applied across the range of alcohol outlets, from large city centre high volume bars to small local pubs. These in-built mechanisms are vital to ensure that the premises are only compared like with like. The marking is done at the time of the Assessment Visit. Consistency of approach throughout the Best Bar None award areas is essential to maintain a standard national benchmark and open the door to the possibility of regional and national awards in the future. All premises which meet the minimum standard i.e .those who have met the 'essential criteria' listed in the 'Scoring Booklet are awarded an accreditation. These premises are entitled to display the appropriate plaque outside their venue for the following 12 months advertising their Best Bar None accreditation. The top five ranked premises in each category (Pub, Club, Bar, Restaurant, Leisure Club/Complex Club) are collated and go forward to the Judging Panel for selection of the winners and runners-up. |
