Judging PhaseThe Judging Phase is to provide objectivity and anonymity in identifying the winners of each category. Best Bar None asks the licensed premises to categorise their premises as a bar, pub or club. The premises are then judged in each of those categories and an overall winner is then decided. The total of number of judges will be between 5/7. A judging panel is chosen from police, fire service, ambulance service and officers from Portsmouth City Council. The premises that are to be judged are the top 5 premises that have gained the most points through totalling up the Essential, Desired and Bonus marks. The evidence is condensed and presented to the Judging Panel. The identity of the each premises is kept secret and given a number only. The Assessors who carried out the visit are available for further detailed questions by the Panel. When the decision is made the Best Bar None Co Ordinator prepares the awards for the awards event. The winners and runners-up are kept secret until the Awards Event to ensure anonymity. |
